Part of our mission is to promote the environment and tourist value of our scenic roads. One way we are doing this is by education, providing information about our wonderful environment.
Our first attempt is a flyer about the Wonderful powder-bark wandoo and how special it is, supporting a whole range of wildlife as well as us humans.
SASTR has been seeking a meeting with the Minister for Transport, Rita Saffioti, but with no success. Her response claims that the community wanted the upgrades to Toodyay Road. But were they aware and did they want the environmental destruction that comes with them?
We all want safer roads and Toodyay Road has had a poor safety record. However, recently published data shows, despite the road receiving no attention between 2015 and 2020, that the latest Killed and Seriously Injured (KSI) figure has fallen. And what does ‘KSI’ mean anyway?
